Mary and Stan suggested this place while visiting with them along with Jim and Ginger. It's up on Pearl Street in Boulder, though a few blocks east of the pedestrian mall section. My (3 of 5 stars "A-OK") review from Yelp:<\/p>\n

It was an early dining experience — getting there about 4 p.m. on a Saturday. Interestingly, the place was packed then, and actually had more open space by the time we were done around 5:45.<\/p>\n

We were a party of seven, which in the tight quarters made for an awkward mash-up of a round table and a smaller square one.<\/p>\n

The pizzas themselves are an odd lot of interesting flavor combinations, all individual-sized (if large), Neapolitan-style, all built and hand-baked in the oven in the center of the room. \u00a0I had a Diavola pizza, slightly spicy, good flavors, great crust, a bit runny in the middle.<\/p>\n

The combos might put off someone who is looking for standard pizza parlor fare. It was unclear how much you could tailor the selection, and I didn't see a pepperoni on the whole menu.<\/p>\n

The wine list is extensive to the point of being daunting, even for someone with wide experience. \u00a0It's also pricey — $30 to $3200. \u00a0That said, there's some good descriptions, a wide variety for different tastes, and an offer for sommelier help (which is odd-feeling in a pizzeria). \u00a0There's also beer and a limited amount of soda.<\/p>\n

Service was helpful, but very busy. \u00a0Ambiance was trendy, utilitarian, and a bit loud.<\/p>\n

Overall, definitely worth (even with the price tag) the visit. I don't know that I would go out of my way to revisit again, but I wouldn't turn down an invitation.<\/p>\n
