{"id":31434,"date":"2012-11-20T11:09:01","date_gmt":"2012-11-20T18:09:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2012\/11\/20\/thank-goodness-the-feds-wont-need-pesky-search-warrants-any-more.html"},"modified":"2012-11-20T11:09:01","modified_gmt":"2012-11-20T18:09:01","slug":"thank-goodness-the-feds-wont-need-pesky-search-warrants-any-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2012\/11\/20\/thank-goodness-the-feds-wont-need-pesky-search-warrants-any-more.html","title":{"rendered":"Thank goodness the feds won&#39;t need pesky search warrants any more!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I mean, clearly we&#39;ve been living in a lawless Wild West full of terrorist bombings and drug lord shootings while those pokey old judges have been taking long vacations and otherwise sitting on urgently needed search warrants!<\/p>\n<p>Surely the dozen or so federal agencies covered here &#8212; everyone from the FBI to the SEC &#8212; will never take advantage of just needing a subpoena to look at anyone&#39;s cloud data.<\/p>\n<p>And, surely local police would never abuse the &quot;emergency&quot; provision of the law to let them peek at email without a warrant, either.<\/p>\n<p>And I&#39;m <i>sure<\/i> carrier notification to the people who&#39;s email is being snooped through will only rarely, if ever, be pushed out to the full year maximum delay that is being proposed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I feel safer already!
