{"id":31479,"date":"2012-11-25T15:58:45","date_gmt":"2012-11-25T22:58:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2012\/11\/25\/fearing-moderation.html"},"modified":"2012-11-25T15:58:45","modified_gmt":"2012-11-25T22:58:45","slug":"fearing-moderation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2012\/11\/25\/fearing-moderation.html","title":{"rendered":"Fearing moderation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Obama campaign was much more worried that John Huntsman would get the nomination than that Romney would. \u00a0The reason is obvious &#8212; most of the Right would have held their nose to vote for a Republican moderate, and much of the middle might well have chosen Huntsman over Obama. \u00a0(Heck, I might have considered it, given my unhappiness about some of Obama&#39;s record on national security matters.)<\/p>\n<p>As long as the GOP keeps running to the Far Right (whether or not Romney was an extremist, he certainly actively campaigned to win their votes and their contributions), they will continue to lose on a national level, and lose increasingly worse.
