Bernard Cardinal Law, not satisfied in alienating Catholics here in the States by his shenanigans in the Church Abuse Cover-Up, is busy offending Catholics in Canada<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On female priesthood? The Cardinal demonstrated his bold leadership in the Church by noting, “It’s one of those things that I don’t think about, because it can’t change. Just rest comfortably in the faith, and understand that this has nothing to do about equality.” <\/p>\n

Yeah. Nothing.<\/p>\n

On gay marriage? Law opined that it wasn’t enough merely to recognize that such unions were wrong, against God, and a violation of the very “definition” of the word, but suggested that good Catholics shouldn’t even dream of attending such ceremonies, lest they be seen as lending comfort and assistance to the enemy<\/s> something so untoward.<\/p>\n

He was diplomatic enough to suggest that disapproval of gay marriages didn’t mean that it was okay to go out attacking homosexuals. That puts him a step up, apparently, from Robert Mugabe<\/a>, which I’m sure will come as a great comfort to the good people of Boston.<\/p>\n
