The Brits are planning on moving, burying, or closing a variety of roads and buildings around Stonehenge<\/a>, so as to make it a more tranquil locale.<\/p>\n

I remember the first time I visited Stonehenge, driving west from London, coming over the rise on a cloudy day just in time to see (I kid you not) a pool of sunlight on the monument. Very impressive.<\/p>\n

It will certainly be nice to have the roadway which cuts closest to the monument (and between it and some nearby bits and pieces) closed, and the visitors center moved. I suspect it will still be something of a zoo, what with the large numbers of tourists, but that’s pretty much unavoidable.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
