Which is really strange (given that it's been a successfully-selling book) and distressing (as Simone is one of the top female writers in comics today). \u00a0Given DC's dubious relationships with its female readers \/ creators \/ characters, it's also more than a bit worrisome.<\/p>\n

"Batgirl" hasn't been my favorite comic in DC's New 52, but it's been one I've read and enjoyed. \u00a0I'll probably hang with it for a few months, just to give whatever new talent is being put on there a chance, but I'll be doing so with more than a jaundiced eye.<\/p>\n

And, by the way, DC \/ Whoever The New "Batgirl" Editor Is … firing someone by e-mail is a chicken-shit move. If you can't talk to someone in person<\/i> (or at a minimum by phone) to tell them they're off the job, you shouldn't be in management. I have fired folks for cause, and I have fired folks as part of lay-offs, and I would never that kind of crap.<\/p>\n
