Sometimes people are just jerks.<\/p>\n

And other times, they aren't, but they seem like it.<\/p>\n

And sometimes, so are we.<\/p>\n

We always make a million excuses for ourselves (sometimes with justification), but rarely for others. "Oh, I have a really good reason to cut in line here, to take this last cookie, to cut off that car, to not hold the elevator."<\/p>\n

We are, almost certainly, too easy on ourselves and too harsh on others.<\/p>\n

Or, as Longfellow put it, "Believe me, every heart has its secret sorrow which the world knows not, and oftentimes we call a man cold, when he is only sad."<\/p>\n
