Florida’s “Dept. of Children & Families” (Child Welfare) has been under fire for years for gross incompetency and screw-ups. Jeb Bush came into office promising, among other things, to improve the sitch.<\/p>\n

He has not. <\/p>\n

There was little 5-year-old Rilya Wilson, whom DCF has “misplaced.” Nobody knows where she is. Nobody visited her Miami foster home for fifteen months, see? And nobody can get a straight answer from anyone (including DCF) as to what hapened.<\/p>\n

Or there’s little 2-year-old Alfredo Montes. Alfredo was killed by his foster parents. His DCF caseworker reported that he was just fine — even though the report was filed on the same day as authorities believe he was killed (or, perhaps, was already dead). The report, of course, was a fabrication.<\/p>\n

And now this<\/a>. <\/p>\n

I don’t know if Jeb Bush will lose reelection for flubbing up this “top priority.” To be honest, I really don’t care.<\/p>\n

I just want the children protected, damnit!<\/i><\/p>\n
