But since it seems that the provision could also be used as a protection for <i>actions<\/i> based on said belief &#8212; refusing to serve alongside a gay person, or be housed in the same barracks, or engaging in harassment or bullying &#8212; it&#39;s an idiotic idea that would \u00a0certainly be, as the White House puts it,\u00a0&quot;harmful to good order and discipline.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Which, of course, is why the GOP negotiators for the reconciliation between the House and Senate bills &#8212; Sen. McCain (R-AZ), and Rep. McKeon (R-CA) are pushing so hard to get it put into the final bill.<\/p>\n<p>And then, of course, conservatives will <i>finally<\/i> be able to find some disciplinary problems stemming from the repeal of Don&#39;t Ask, Don&#39;t Tell.
