As mentioned earlier, SF\/Fantasy\/Comics author Peter David suffered a stroke a few days ago. He's making progress, but the family's hitting the (sadly) usual bumps of both deductible costs (it happened on the 31st, so after paying out the deductibles in the first hours of the crisis, now they get to pay them out all over again with the new year) and the insurance company deciding what sort of treatment it can most affordably pay for.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, helping PAD out is easy: buy his stuff. Stuff from Crazy 8 (or Amazon or B&N). Stuff from Marvel that he's done. Or any of the other work\u00a0he's done. Some will profit him directly, others will provide longer-term (but still welcome) royalties down the line.<\/p>\n

The easy part is that Peter David's work is generally a lot of fun, imaginative, and generally worth reading. Which is all the more reason to help him while he's down.<\/p>\n
