The fact is, the majority of Americans think that abortions should be rare but legal. It’s a subject that they don’t like to think about much, and one that they feel ambivalent about — they think abortion is of questionable morality, but they also feel it’s a personal decision, and don’t like the government dictating to them about a personal situation that they or someone they love might suddenly find themselves in.
