Man, I'll be happy if there's a way to just have a single chat window open, rather than a message coming in triggering subwindows in Gmail and G+ (as well as the old native Talk client, which I still<\/i> prefer, since all it does is let me … talk, and it doesn't require a separate instance of the browser to run in).<\/p>\n

Overall, I think this is a good idea. I do think the reworking and barriers around it make Google an incrementally more insular place to work in, which is not what I want to see, but it's certainly true that the general direction of an integrated, cross-product chat client\/tech for Google is overdue.<\/p>\n
