I actually do some of these. \u00a0Or analagous ones.<\/p>\n

And, for the record, I thought they were called "gyros"-with-a-J-sound for many years (largely because there weren't a lot of Greek sandwich places in suburban SoCal where I grew up). \u00a0And that was encouraged by, of all things, a comic book. I offer you Marvel Two-in-One<\/i> #51, this page (http:\/\/www.supermegamonkey.net\/chronocomic\/entries\/scans3\/MTIO51_SkyDragon.JPG<\/a>), the next panel in\u00a0which has the Beast leaping off as well, jovially shouting out, "Gyros? No thanks, I just ate …" — which did nothing to correct my misunderstanding of how the word was pronounced.<\/p>\n

(That's a damn fine comic book, btw.)<\/p>\n

Anyway, thanks for the chuckle and self-reflection, Les.\u00a0<\/p>\n
