Ebert was famous (infamous in some circles) for being more forgiving of some mass entertainment films if<\/i> he thought they were fun (as he put it in his review of The Mummy,<\/i> "There is a little immaturity stuck away in the crannies of even the most judicious of us, and we should treasure it"). \u00a0But he could also put out a verbal smackdown of the flicks he didn't<\/i> like with a breathtaking awesomeness that, even if you disagreed with him in one instance or another, would always bring an admiring nod.<\/p>\n
