… only there is a cheerleading competition in town, and no matter where you go, there are roving packs of prepubescent cheerleaders, shouting, chanting, screaming, squealing, and shouting and chanting again in case you didn’t get it the first time, all of them shepherded by coaches who are either deaf or who have gotten so acclimated to the din that they don’t realize how incredibly (not to mention obnoxiously) loud their charges are.<\/p>\n
