Katherine has taken to crawling on the floor and miaowing for Kitty Treats, just like our other two cats. She gets Goldfish instead, of course (though she’s been known to eat actual Kitty Treats), which she then eats off the carpet.<\/p>\n
It doesn’t bear thinking too much about, but it’s damned cute.<\/p>\n
And then, yesterday, she grabbed Nona’s hand and pulled her to the couch. “Read me story!”<\/p>\n
“Why don’t you tell me a story.”<\/p>\n
“Okay. Boy live far away. Girl live far away. …” And the story grew from there.<\/p>\n
Okay, think about that. Her internal world, her imagination, her abilility to process what she’s heard and shuffle it around and make something new and then actually articulate it, have all grown to the point where she can tell <\/i>a story.<\/p>\n
