It’s Thursday, which means it’s time for your letters<\/s> The Thursday Thumb-Twiddler<\/a>.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

1. Would you prefer to have had more or fewer sexual partners in your life?<\/b><\/p>\n

That’s a tough one, since I kind of like my life right now and would hate to suggest anything that would have led me down a different path. To that end, probably “as many as I’ve had” is the right answer.<\/p>\n

There are occasional regrets, in both directions, about the past. But no Horrible Mistakes or Tremendous Missed Opportunities that keep me up at night, at least not in that arena.<\/p>\n

2. You accidentally come across your teenager’s diary. If you choose to, you can read it without anyone ever knowing. Do you? What if it were your spouse’s?<\/b><\/p>\n

Read it, of course. And feel horribly guilty. But I confess that I have an abiding curiousity about the human condition, and, in particular, the difference between my <\/i>perception of things and the perception of others<\/i>. Some of the most disturbing times I’ve ever had was when I discovered a huge, unsuspected disconnect between those two. <\/p>\n

So I seek external validation (or confirmation) against my perceptions, just to make sure that I’m not completely out in left field about things. Which means diaries are fair game, even if reading them is a horrible breach of propriety.<\/p>\n

Or you can just say that I’m nosy as all hell, and leave it at that.<\/p>\n

3. You work for an ad agency, and the assignment is to come up with a slogan to get people to eat more fish. What would you suggest?<\/b><\/p>\n

Fish: The First<\/u> White Meat<\/i>
\nFish — It’ll Hook You!<\/i> (well, maybe not)
\nFish … Because Cows, Sheep and Pigs are Too Cute<\/i><\/p>\n
