{"id":3611,"date":"2002-10-18T17:04:16","date_gmt":"2002-10-18T22:04:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/?p=3611"},"modified":"2002-10-18T17:04:16","modified_gmt":"2002-10-18T22:04:16","slug":"travelogue_11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2002\/10\/18\/travelogue_11.html","title":{"rendered":"Travelogue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Security from my trip yesterday.<\/p>\n<p><u>Denver<\/u><\/p>\n<li>Arriving at the airport at 5:30a may suck in many ways, but it sure gets you through lines quickly.\n<li>They&#8217;re still checking out the trunks of cars if they&#8217;re going into the parking garage, though there are rumors that will be dropped soon.\n<li>Professional, quick, friendly and thorough security lines.\n<li>Lots of TSA folks.  They&#8217;ve also expanded the area at DIA for the security checkpoint, taking out the old phone\/ATM banks (which are being moved elsewhere).\n<li>My notebook computer got swabbed, but I did not personally trigger any sort of alarm going through.<\/p>\n<p><u>Los Angeles<\/u><\/p>\n<li>More squished space to work in, but lines moved quickly, there were plenty of TSA personnel, and they were friendly and professional and thorough, too.\n<li>My notebook computer got swabbed, but I did not personally trigger any sort of alarm going through.\n<li>Unlike Denver, I had to run my sports coat through the X-ray machine.\n<li>Unlike Denver, they wanted my PDA, cell phone, change, etc., in a different bin than my notebook.\n<li>For the first time ever, someone actually dug through my brief case to figure out what that mass of cables was.  It&#8217;s, well, a mass of cables (phone line, Ethernet cable, mouse, power adapter lines for the notebook, recharger for my Palm, connecting cable for my Palm, recharger for my cell phone, three-way plug, etc.).  Everyone always stops and stares at the X-ray picture for a while, but the folks at LA finally took a real look at it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Security from my trip yesterday.
