Because some people don't want to pay for it. It's that simple.<\/p>\n

They've managed to craft some elaborate psycho-mythology about how food stamps is creating a "Nation of Dependency," and back that up with anecdotes of "Welfare Queens" and similar abuses of generosity, and how all of this, as well as the very concept of taxation itself, threatens the American Way and Christendom\u00a0and Civilization As We Know It. \u00a0They don't explain how food and jobs will suddenly\u00a0appear if SNAP and similar programs are eliminated, just that they will, and everyone will be fed and happy and prosperous and all will be well, if only we wean all those cheaters off the national teat and force them to … well, get off their buts and find all the jobs and food that lying around like power-ups for them to take.<\/p>\n

But, bottom line, all self-contradictory and self-aggrandizing mythos aside, they just don't want to pay taxes they are already paying to feed children and families that are suffering from being out of work and are unable to adequately feed themselves. \u00a0<\/p>\n

It doesn't seem to me that a "Nation of Dependency" is the real threat here.<\/p><\/div>\n
