So it must be time for the Thursday Thumb-Twiddler<\/a><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

1. Does not having done something before make it more appealing, or less?<\/b><\/p>\n

I am a creature of habit. That’s because I’m lazy, and following in a rut means less decision-making, and thus less work. So, usually, I’m more inclined to do something I’ve done before (and enjoyed) than something I’ve not done before (but might enjoy).<\/p>\n

I do sometimes show bursts of novelty-loving, but only when it’s new-stuff-sorta-like-old-stuff-I-liked.<\/p>\n

2. If you could have a large stain-glass window in your house, what would you want it to depict?<\/b><\/p>\n

We actually, I believe, have a really pretty stained glass panel down in the basement. It’s been packed up in a heavy wooden container since I’ve known Margie, since it got “some damage” somewhere along the line. One of these days …<\/p>\n

If I was making up something new, it would probably be a floral pattern — maybe lots of fines, with a bright flower or cluster of them in the middle.<\/p>\n

Stained glass work is one of those things that is On My List of Hobbies To Pursue in Another Lifetime.<\/p>\n

Alas, our current house does not have many good windows for stained glass. A few, but not many.<\/p>\n

3. A change of pace. What five TV series have or had the best instrumental theme song?<\/b><\/p>\n

It’s hard to divorce the music from the visuals (let alone from the show), but my vote (today) would be:<\/p>\n

1. Mission: Impossible <\/i>(TOS)
\n2. Jonny Quest <\/i>(TOS)
\n3. Magnum, PI<\/i>
\n4. Space Ghost <\/i>(TOS)
\n5. Simon & Simon <\/i>(S2ff.)<\/p>\n

With Honorable Mention to The Equalizer, Hawaii 5-0, Peter Gunn, Miami Vice, Kolchak: The Night Stalker, Thunderbirds, Barnaby Jones, Buffy, Angel, Hill Street Blues,<\/i> all of the WB recent super-hero cartoons, Babylon 5<\/i> (particularly S5), The A-Team<\/i>, most of the modern Star Trek <\/i>franchises (except the current one, and the revamped DS9 <\/i>“dance mix”), Space: Above & Beyond<\/i>, and Masterpiece Theater<\/i>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
