However, in the case of two death penalty cases that have been under appeal for <i>five years<\/i>, the Wyoming Supreme Court shows that <a title=\"Wyo Supreme Court urged to rule in death-penalty cases\" href=\"http:\/\/www.casperstartribune.net\/articles\/2003\/03\/25\/news\/wyoming\/1f193e57672a0e4e17d979c912feea3d.txt\">the alternative<\/a> isn&#8217;t all that great, either.<\/p>\n<p>The two appeals were submitted to the Court in 10\/97 and 12\/98.  Even though Wyoming law calls on their supreme court to give priority to death penalty cases, no judgment on the appeals has ever been handed down, leaving the two defendents just sitting on death row.
