It’s This-or-That Tuesday<\/a>, the Arts Edition.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

1. Poetry or prose?<\/b> I prefer the latter, though there is some of the former I enjoy.<\/p>\n

2. Funky modern art or the older, “classic” variety?<\/b> Let’s just say I’d rather spend a week in the Tate Britain than an hour in the Tate Modern.<\/p>\n

3. Sculptures or paintings?<\/b> Hmmm. I like both. Can’t decide.<\/p>\n

4. Theatre: exuberant musical or serious drama?<\/b> Probably the former. We don’t see as much theatre as we should.<\/p>\n

5. Ballet or modern dance?<\/b> Let’s see, root canal or migrane headache? Yeesh.<\/p>\n

6. Movies: major studio or indie?<\/b> Probably the former, since I tend to go to the movies for entertainment, not Thought-Provokment.<\/p>\n

7. Authors: Shakespeare or Dr. Seuss?<\/b> The latter, probably, though I’d rather see a play by the former.<\/p>\n

8. TV: PBS or A&E?<\/b> A&E. Though PBS has its moments.<\/p>\n

9. Music: Beethoven or Beatles?<\/b> Depends on my mood.<\/p>\n

10. Thought-provoking question of the week: You are a contributing member of your favorite art museum, and visit on a regular basis. They announce a new, temporary special exhibit by an artist surrounded by controversy…this person’s work and\/or political views offend you. Do you stop supporting the museum, or just stay away during the time the exhibit is there?<\/b> Well, I’d likely stay away, unless there was other stuff I wanted to see in the meantime. It might affect my support of the art gallery — I suppose it would depend on how offended I was, or how often this sort of thing happens.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
