Listened to the CENTCOM press conference this afternoon. You know, you could just close your eyes and tell what the editorial position of the questioner’s employers were.<\/p>\n
Is the US military bogged down? Were you grossly overconfident? Has American military morale been crippled by videos of US casualties? Is the fact that the war isn’t over a sign that this is another Viet Nam? Is the fact that the war has been going so quickly a sign that the US is a bully? Will attacks by un-uniformed resistance fighters lead to a need for increased civilian casualties?<\/i><\/p>\n
Or, conversely,<\/p>\n
Are the Iraqi scum? Are the Iraqis war criminals? Are the Iraqis killing and mistreating American prisoners?<\/i><\/p>\n
The latter are not quite as egregious, I suppose, but still annoying.<\/p>\n
