Well, I’ve done my civic duty. My sidewalk is all shoveled — or at least a WWI-style trench has been dug to the concrete, one shovel wide, the entire way. My driveway, at least the van side, is also clear. <\/p>\n
I love Colorado. This morning the sun came out, and I shoveled part of the driveway out front. When I went back out an hour or two later, the driveway I’d shoveled was dry<\/i>. At least where water wasn’t running down it.<\/p>\n
The big concern now is not snow, or even drought. Short-term, it’s flooding, as snow melts on roads, but the drains are clogged by unmelted snow or slush. <\/p>\n
Kitten had fun running around in her snow pants. We took a family walk up to Monaco St., which is still unplowed. A few vehicles are making it out — particularly large pickups and jeeps, mostly driven by teens at home.<\/p>\n
I don’t expect we’ll get out of the house today, or tomorrow. Saturday, maybe. A few brave souls have come back down the street, having trekked over to King Soopers for supplies. Not worth it yet.<\/p>\n
