Finally finished watching (off the DVR) the "Heroes of Cosplay" minirealityseries that Syfy fan earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Meh.<\/p>\n

For me, the interesting stuff was seeing how the protagonists\u00a0actually planned put together the costumes, planned the skits, and the breadth of competition and what the other teams and individuals\u00a0did. \u00a0That was all awesomey goodness. \u00a0Y'know, the actual doing<\/i> of cosplay.<\/p>\n

The uninteresting (or positively repellent) stuff was all the drama. \u00a0Oh, the drama. \u00a0The DRAMA. \u00a0Backbiting. Dissing. Sudden dire illnesses and injuries. Worries (repeated, repeated worries) about "career" impact if the famous former cosplay champion didn't make a favorable comeback. \u00a0The faux confrontations. \u00a0The trash talking.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It was like watching Pro Wrestling, only with a comic book and video game motif. \u00a0Oh, wait …<\/p>\n

Not planning on seeing another season, if it gets picked up, unless they really change their approach.<\/p><\/div>\n
