David Brin's proposal is awfully tempting, for a Dem who lives in a fairly solid GOP district. \u00a0Register with the majority party, in order to moderate the primary candidate selected. \u00a0The problems I see are:<\/p>\n

1. Parties react (sometimes poorly) to registration numbers. \u00a0If the number of registered GOP went up in my district, would that affect the quality of Dems running and the support\/funding they would receive?<\/p>\n

2. I'm not sure my blood pressure could survive the kind of campaign lit that would flood my mailbox and voice mail.<\/p><\/div>\n
