It really is, having been a list admin in my day and having had to deal with requests about individuals who were (in someone's opinion) being abusive. \u00a0Adding self-service tools to the community can be helpful, but finding the right balance between enough and too many \/ too much, in a way that doesn't stifle the overall community as a whole, or allow for retributive actions, tyranny of the majority, or other poor social actions is a non-trivial task.<\/p>\n

Heck, we haven't figured it out in the real world, yet.<\/p>\n

This article talks about Twitter's "block" facility, which they changed (and then, facing an uproar) changed back. \u00a0It's as much about how the change process needs to work as much as the merits of what is being changed (or whether a change needs to be an addition).\ufeff<\/p><\/div>\n
