You can loan it to someone. You can even sell it on eBay.<\/p>\n<p>If you &quot;buy&quot; a movie on a cloud service &#8230; you are buying a license to view it, which license allows the &quot;real&quot; owner to dictate when, where, and how you can actually access it.<\/p>\n<p>For example, if you buy a Disney Christmas movie on Amazon&#39;s video service, and Disney subsequently decides that they only want people to see that movie on their own channels \u00a0during the actual Christmas seasons &#8230; you&#39;re pretty much out of luck.<\/p>\n<p>That may be okay &#8212; but it&#39;s definitely a factor to consider when buying digital &quot;cloud&quot; stuff.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reshared post from +<a href='https:\/\/plus.google.com\/113095583058884257203'>Steven Flaeck<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i>This is what was set in motion in the 1970s, when we started using the term &quot;intellectual property&quot; instead of &quot;copyright&quot; or &quot;author&#39;s monopoly.&quot; If the movie is Disney&#39;s &quot;property&quot; for ever and ever, it follows that it is never your property, no matter that you &quot;buy&quot; it.
