Though I am not a big sports fan, I would welcome serious competition to the NFL.<\/p>\n

That said, the NFL has deep enough pockets and enough political clout to bury these guys totally unless they find a way to co-opt them.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, doing so might provide leverage to remove the NFL's tax-exempt status as "promoting the game of football". So it will be interesting to watch. At least on a meta level.<\/p>\n
