Leveraging their massive social network&#39;s pervasiveness, they gave all their members an @<a href=\"http:\/\/facebook.com\">facebook.com<\/a> email address and set it as the default contact address for everyone&#39;s account.<\/p>\n<p>Within months, Yahoo Mail, Hotmail, AOL, and even Gmail had dwindled to mere trickles in the emailverse, as Facebook proved its power to take over all channels of communication, and began to eye Instant Messaging.<\/p>\n<p>Well, no, that middle part never happened. Folks didn&#39;t drop their email service from elsewhere. More importantly, they didn&#39;t start using Facebook mail.
