One of my TV shows from the 1980s was Edward Woodward's "The Equalizer". Alas, its transition to some format that I can watch again has been frustratingly slow, tied to on-again, off-again movie plans. \u00a0<\/p>\n

After a few decades (and some spotty VHS tape issues), a DVD collection of the first season was released in 2008, when it seemed like a movie was in the offing (my review http:\/\/goo.gl\/3NXHiJ<\/a>). That movie prospect faded, but a new film from Sony, with Denzel Washington in the title role, is due for release this fall (http:\/\/goo.gl\/wGMvYe<\/a>). Pre-screenings were solid enough that a sequel is already being worked on. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Which means that the time is right for some TV releases. Unfortunately, the first out the chute is a "Best Of" disc, but there's every prospect of some season sets coming out — hopefully later this year.\ufeff<\/p><\/div>\n
