That sounds like a no-brainer, but is cause for some serious thought. \u00a0That section\u00a0there &#8212; do you want a 6&quot; drawer with a cabinet beneath? \u00a0Should the cabinet have a couple of shelves &#8212; pull-out or fixed? \u00a0Or maybe two 6&quot; and two 12&quot; drawers? \u00a0Or maybe five 6&quot; drawers? \u00a0Or &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>A lot of what we&#39;re doing is mostly drawers, vs big cabinets. Indeed, one of the unspoken goals of the kitchen is &quot;no dark pits&quot;. \u00a0We have too many cabinets right now where there are things lurking in the darkness &#8212; not monsters, just stuff that was put there and is now invisible or hidden behind other stuff. So lots of stuff in drawers, including pots and pans and plates and the like.<\/p>\n<p>We&#39;ve decided on bamboo for the cabinet material (here&#39;s an example of kind of how it will look\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/goo.gl\/gN3ujc\">http:\/\/goo.gl\/gN3ujc<\/a>). \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In other news,\u00a0I <i>think<\/i> we&#39;ve determined\u00a0out the backsplash material (a checkered mostly-white tile), to go with the off-black-blue quartz countertop, though we still need to figure out a color accent (IMO) behind the stove. \u00a0Appliance-wise, \u00a0we&#39;ve determined figured out our dishwasher (Bosch), but we\u00a0need to settle on the fridge, range hood, and microwave (Margie has the range and the Miele convection\/steam oven already figured out.)<\/p>\n<p>Now, if we could get actual ground broken (or a schedule for same), we&#39;d be really stying &#8230;\ufeff<\/p><\/div>\n<div class='gpb-photo-primary'><img src='https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/-xBSiLai5BoE\/UzbpAdTQCHI\/AAAAAAACrW0\/4xefZnSDAx4\/another-country-kitchen%5B1%5D.jpg?imgmax=1024' border='0' style='max-width:100%;' \/><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class='gpb-links' style='clear:both;'> <a class='gpb-linkback' href='https:\/\/plus.google.com\/101083456815352083930\/posts\/QJdweAEbcAu' target='_new'>View this post on Google+<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Went through the floor plan yesterday deciding on cabinetry.
