Because the Koch Bros., ALEC, and various allies are starting to attack it, both by working to strike down state laws requiring utilities produce a percentage of their energy through alternative means, and by working to get states to up\u00a0fees for private citizens\u00a0who sell\u00a0excess solar back to utilities.<\/p>\n

(I do agree that folks who depend on the grid should help pay for the grid. I would like someone with less of a vested interest than the utilities to provide some better analysis for this, esp. if the net effect is to discourage solar.)\ufeff<\/p><\/div>\n
