Here are a few collections I&#39;ve gotten through lately (with links to longer reviews at GoodReads):<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Satellite Sam, Vol. 1<\/i><\/b> &#8211; Howard Chaykin&#39;s homage to the early days of TV is full of his signature sex and violence and sex, but in the end I didn&#39;t find any characters <i>or<\/i> story here worth picking up more for. \u00a0[3\/5 stars, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/review\/show\/926046727\">https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/review\/show\/926046727<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p><b><i>All-New X-Men, Vol. 1 &quot;Yesterday&#39;s X-Men&quot;<\/i><\/b> and <b><i>Vol. 2 &quot;Here to Stay&quot;<\/i><\/b> &#8211; Brian Bendis gets to play in the X-Men franchise, with Stuart Immonen providing great art. It&#39;s wildly complicated, but that&#39;s the X-folk for you, and the dialog and characterization are solid. [4\/5 stars,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/review\/show\/947947203\">https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/review\/show\/947947203<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/review\/show\/948680968\">https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/review\/show\/948680968<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Atomic Robo, Vol. 3 &quot;Atomic Robo and the Shadow from Beyond Time&quot;<\/i><\/b> &#8211; I truly, sincerly, fully love this series. It&#39;s zany pulp adventure fun spanning the 20th (and into the 21st) Century &#8212; in this volume focused (mostly) on some great Lovecraftian horrors (complete with H P Lovecraft himself). [4\/5 stars, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/review\/show\/947951631\">https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/review\/show\/947951631<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Manifest Destiny, Vol. 1<\/i><\/b> &#8211; American History Horror, as Lewis &amp; Clark discover that the wilds are full of things that go bump in the night (and splursh in the day). Delightfully well done, with layers upon layers. \u00a0[5\/5 stars,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/review\/show\/948483675\">https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/review\/show\/948483675<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Saga, Vol. 3<\/i><\/b> &#8211; Vaughan and Staples are still cranking out some comi-tragic SF\/Fantasy epicness here.
