\n “Casablanca” is such an iconic film, full of such iconic dialog, that it’s almost impossible to consider on its own. But, if one tried … it’s a movie about Rick, as morally ambiguous a character as one can think of. He’s not good. He’s not evil. He’s selfish, with an ethos of self-protection, extending to a tribal loyalty to his staff and territory.
