For the last two nights, Katherine has come to visit us. Night before last, it was around 2:30a. She wanted assistance in going potty. A while later, she came back, and had a conversation with Margie. This morning, it was around 4:30a, and she wanted us to know that she had gone potty all by herself, and, by the way, would Mommy walk her back to her room? <\/p>\n
I ended up doing that (a fair exchange, since Margie had held most of the conversation with her). It’s rather disheartening crawling into bed at 4:40a when you know the alarm is going to ring in twenty minutes.<\/p>\n
She was still awake when I got up for my shower, but she was snoozing when I left the house. No idea how long she stayed down.<\/p>\n
My worry is that her sleep cycles are changing, and evolving away from the pretty regular 11-12 hours she’s held for the last year or so. Down at 7, up at 7, that’s been our girl.<\/p>\n
Or maybe it’s just the novelty of waking up and going potty in the bathroom that’s appealing to her, and she needs to learn to do it like Mommy and Daddy — with lots of staggering and muttering and collapsing into bed again when it’s all over.<\/p>\n
