Watched "The Musketeers" tonight on BBC America. \u00a0I do like. \u00a0<\/p>\n

The 17th Century France feels appropriately grimy, the swordplay (and pistol- and musket-play) is fun, the protags (despite all being guys with longish dark hair) are interesting, and we have enough variations from the classic "Three Musketeers" plotlines (at least as a series intro) to make the material feel fresh.<\/p>\n

Oh, and I'm loving Peter Capaldi as Richelieu. \u00a0He's ruthless and patriotic and egotistical and after the interests of France … which just happen to be his own. \u00a0He's a black hat you can both boo and admire at the same time.<\/p>\n

Definitely plan on watching more.\ufeff<\/p><\/div>\n
