Honestly, I'd not really considered the unfamiliarity factor regarding Guardians of the Galaxy.<\/i> Doubtless that's because I'm a comics wonk and naturally<\/i> I know how the GotG (in various versions) fit into the Marvel Universe, and of course<\/i> I have informed speculations about the various Marvel Cinematic Universe-related bits and bobs (the Collector, Thanos, some cosmic MacGuffin) that will hook this movie in with what we've seen to date, so obviously<\/i> I'm not expecting Iron Man or Thor or Captain America to show up.<\/p>\n

And just as naturally and obviously, some folk aren't quite sure what to expect from it.<\/p>\n

Here's hoping it does well.<\/p>\n

This movie is Marvel's biggest risk to date. I'd never heard of the Guardians prior to the movie announcement, but the trailers have convinced me it's a must-see. It doesn't seem like that's true for everyone. Hopefully it lives up to the promise of the trailers and pulls in the big numbers.\u00a0\ufeff<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n
