Networks are still overly focused on live or same-day ratings. But that's increasingly becoming obsolete, as looking at DVR usage, Video on Demand, and various online streaming numbers means that overall viewership of a given show may be double what those live\/same-day numbers.<\/p>\n

What I've found interesting is that, at the same time these viewing habits are changing, various networks are focusing attention on live audiences, often through various Twitter campaigns and "live" on-line polls and votes. \u00a0That seems — counterproductive against current trends.<\/p>\n

Personally, we watch almost nothing (save important events, of the election and sports variety) live; almost everything is done via DVR, with occasional streaming when something didn't get set up to record.\ufeff<\/p><\/div>\n
