Sad to hear that Deborah Sussman has passed. Her signage and decor inspirations for the '84 LA Olympics were inspired, fun, and worked great. (Yellow, vermilion, magenta, and<\/i> aqua? Inconceivable, but it worked!)<\/p>\n

What I hadn't realized until I read this article is that she was also the designer behind the signage and color schemes at Walt Disney World, another inspired combo. (I even borrowed those colors for the first iteration of my blog.)<\/p>\n

Thanks, Ms Sussman. You made our world a little easier, and a lot more colorful.<\/p>\n

Remembering the Designer Who Made Our Cities More Colorful<\/a>
\n The graphic designer Deborah Sussman died at the age of 83 this week, leaving behind a technicolor legacy. She was perhaps most famous for designing the graphics and signage for the 1984 Summer Olympics, which transformed Los Angeles into a dazzling playground of magenta and teal. But Sussman also left her mark on cities around the world.\n <\/p>\n
