Another day, another massive viral infection hits the Net<\/a>, this time in the form of the Blaster (or Lovsan) worm<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As always, keep a good firewall, have a good AV system (and keep those signatures up to date!), and keep your systems patched (as difficult as M$ makes that).<\/p>\n

Symantec (at least) has a tool <\/a>you can download to clean an infected machine, as does <\/a>McAfee\/NAI. All the major vendors have updates to their AV signature files.<\/p>\n

If you don’t have a firewall, turn on the Microsoft crapola one (Advanced tab in the properties of your network connection); it will let you stay connected long enough to download the above tools, if you are infected already.<\/p>\n
