{"id":4536,"date":"2003-08-11T08:47:41","date_gmt":"2003-08-11T15:47:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/?p=4536"},"modified":"2003-08-11T08:47:41","modified_gmt":"2003-08-11T15:47:41","slug":"wmd_discovery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2003\/08\/11\/wmd_discovery.html","title":{"rendered":"WMD discovery!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In China, they just found some barrels of (probably) mustard gas <a title=\"BBC NEWS | Asia-Pacific | China angry over 'WWII gas' spill\" href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/2\/hi\/asia-pacific\/3140637.stm\">left over from WWII<\/a> and the Japanese occupation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"block\">An accident in China involving chemical weapons allegedly left behind by Japanese troops in World War II has left at least 36 people ill. <br \/>\nMetal drums containing what is thought to be mustard gas were found on a construction site in the city of Qiqihar in Heilongjiang province. <br \/>\nMost of the injured are construction workers and people who came into contact with the drums after they had been unwittingly opened.<\/p>\n<p>Amazing how things can be manufactured and left hidden and only discovered 55 years later, even though the Chinese knew chemical weapons had been left behind (and, indeed, had found them in the past).<\/p>\n<p><small>(via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.instapundit.com\/archives\/010887.php\">InstaPundit<\/a>)<\/small><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In China, they just found some barrels of (probably) mustard gas left over from WWII and the Japanese occupation.
