{"id":4543,"date":"2003-08-08T17:05:21","date_gmt":"2003-08-09T00:05:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/?p=4543"},"modified":"2003-08-08T17:05:21","modified_gmt":"2003-08-09T00:05:21","slug":"decked","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2003\/08\/08\/decked.html","title":{"rendered":"Decked"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I finally, after several false starts, began work on the back deck, replacing a number of the loose nails &#8212; especially where the main boards butt up together on joists &#8212; with honest-to-God deck screws.<\/p>\n<p>The good new?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I&#8217;m about half-way done, with a couple of hours work.\n<li>I&#8217;ve definitely strengthened the deck overall.\n<li>Much of the deck is in pretty good shape.<\/ul>\n<p>The bad news?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There&#8217;s quite a bit of it that&#8217;s not. <\/ul>\n<p>When we get the house painted (by and by), we&#8217;ll be replacing a number of the 2x6x10s that make up the deck.
