What bunch of polluting, nature-hating, money-grubbing fat cats are to be held to blame?<\/p>\n<p>How about the <a title=\"Ananova - Toxic concerns over Free Willy burial\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ananova.com\/news\/story\/sm_855263.html?menu=news.quirkies\">US Humane Society and the Free Willy-Keiko Foundation<\/a>?  The site in question is where, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2003\/12\/16\/it_is_a_puzzlem_1.html\">last month<\/a>, Keiko, the killer whale star of the &#8220;Free Willy&#8221; movies, was buried.<\/p>\n<p class=\"block\">Keiko lived off fatty fish and marine mammals such as seals, which are known for carrying poisons known as PCBs.  Now there are concerns over the decision to bury Keiko on land instead of towing his remains out to sea.<br \/>\nHans Aasen of the state environmental regulatory agency SFT said: &#8220;PCBs are frighteningly dangerous stuff,&#8221; reports Aftenposten, quoting newspaper Dagens Naeringsliv.<br \/>\nMr Aasen says the burial of Keiko does not come under rules governing the disposal of hazardous waste, saying: &#8220;This was a stranded whale, not garbage.&#8221; But he adds officials will investigate the matter.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s nice to fool (with) Mother Nature.<\/p>\n<p><small>(via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cronaca.com\/archives\/001932.html\">Cronaca<\/a>)<\/small><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Norwegian authorities are concerned about a site now being visited by many children and tourists that may be full of toxic PCBs.
