When Palestinian terrorist organization target border checkpoints<\/a> between Israel and Palestinian territory — the very checkpoints that Palestinians (20,000 a day at this particular one) have to be able to cross in order to work in Israel — then it’s kind of difficult to get too worked up about how the Palestinian Authority is going broke, and unemployment is so high in Palestinian lands<\/a>. It’s also difficult in that case to blame Israel for that unemployment — though I’m sure some folks will manage to do just that.<\/p>\n

And when terrorists recruit women for murder-suicide operations like this, counting on delays until a woman inspector can be found (to satisfy both Israeli and Palestinian propriety) to give them time to set off explosives most advantageously — it’s going to be difficult to blame Israeli soldiers and checkpoint guards if they are a bit less respectful of the dignity of women passing through the checkpoints — though I’m sure some folks will manage to do just that, too.<\/p>\n
