That WaPo\/ABC Poll mentioned earlier today had some other interesting bits in it: Christians are much more supportive of torture by the CIA than Non-Religious.<\/p>\n

Now, I don't think that necessarily means that American Christians (except Bryan Fischer) actually believe that torture is a good and godly thing to do. I think that most of them are simply following along the political and social and pragmatic courses that argue that it's not really torture, but if it is it's still justified because we got all sorts of information, and they were just following orders, and it was so long ago, and WHY DO THE DEMOCRATS WANT TO PUT GEORGE W. BUSH IN PRISON? That, in so doing, they mentally skip over religious consideration of What Would Jesus Do when faced with the question of waterboarding a prisoner or rectally feeding and hydrating one, is less an indictment of Christianity per se<\/i> than of how much Christian teachings actually influence their political lives.<\/p>\n

Some Christians wonder how Atheists can lead a moral life if they don't have a religious framework of Godly commandments that they put first in their lives. It seems to me that some Atheists might ask that very question back.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
