Albeit with some contractual strings attached back to Sony.<\/p>\n

I would be more excited about this if I were more of a Spider-fan. In general, though, I find him … meh. Mostly stand-alone, witty banter, tragic relationships, web-slinging and all that — I just don't see him fitting into what has been an Avengers-centric MCU very well. We'll see, I guess. My main regret is that the inclusion of a Spider-film will push back some of the other announced projects.<\/p>\n

I think the folks who are tea leaf reading about whether\/how Spidey will first show up (e.g., doing some reshooting in Avengers 2)<\/i> are forgetting those end-credit sequenced. He could be added into one of those pretty simply.<\/p>\n

Sony knows they've damaged a very valuable franchise with the last couple of movies. If there's anyone out there who could save it, it's Marvel. Plus we get to see Spidey in MCU films. I'd much prefer it if Sony just gave back the rights while holding onto distribution or something, but this is better than nothing.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
