We&#39;ve dealt with 40s-50s so far, and she&#39;s moving into the 60s. So the question becomes, what SF movies from the 60s (that I consider iconic and\/or enjoy a lot) should I <del>impose<\/del> <i>share<\/i> with her to give her a sense of the <i>zeitgeist.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Movie ideas I&#39;m leaning towards:<br \/><i>Crack in the World<\/i> [a kitschy SF\/disaster class]<br \/><i>Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea<\/i> [the Irwin Allen Walter Pidgeon movie]<br \/><i>Village of the Giants<\/i> [teen JDs grow big and go wild!]<br \/><i>5 Million Years to Earth<\/i> [Quatermass and the Pit]<br \/><i>Planet of the Apes<\/i> [iconic]<br \/><i>Fantastic Voyage<\/i> [spiffy fx, Cold War, plus Raquel Welch]<br \/><i>2001: A Space Odyssey<\/i> [iconic and high concept]<\/p>\n<p>Of course, in the SF\/Fantasy realm, there are some TV shows that bear some possible sharing:<br \/><i>The Twilight Zone<\/i> [which could take us weeks]<br \/><i>The Outer Limits<\/i> [ditto]<br \/><i>Lost in Space<\/i> [nothing past S.1]<br \/><i>The Avengers<\/i> [arguably SF\/Fantasy]<br \/><i>The Prisoner<\/i> [ditto]<\/p>\n<p>The obvious TV show, <i>Star Trek,<\/i> we&#39;ve already gone through.<\/p>\n<p>So, obviously, there&#39;s way more there than can be easily shared in the time frame involved. Indeed, I probably can only manage 2-3 movies, which just kills me. I&#39;m thinking of <i>Apes, 2001,<\/i> and I&#39;m torn on what else might fit in there.
