Of course, the argument that every other country out there uses money, like stamps, to showcase a rotating display of their art, science, and heroes, is meaningless (if not a detriment) in the United States, but I think despite a pathological conservatism when it comes to art, Americans could get behind shaking up our money a bit in ways other than &quot;what size is Andrew Jackson&#39;s head this year?&quot;<\/p>\n<p>(I sometimes think this idea gets no traction because it would mortally offend some group or another to take away their beloved George \/ Abe \/ Andy \/ Ulysses \/ Ben from their banknotes. But I digress)<\/p>\n<p>To that end, yes, it would be a fabulous opportunity to feature some women. I&#39;d only establish the rule that they cannot have been alive in the past, oh, 75 years. That avoids any real-life-remembered political outrage over putting THAT PERSON on MY MONEY.  It also eliminates, for a while, at least half the candidates given, but there are plenty, and to spare.<\/p>\n<p>(I feel much the same way about naming buildings, or printing postage stamps, after <i>anyone<\/i> living. It&#39;s just asking for trouble, if not political than tempting-the-gods style &#8212; just Google &quot;arapahoe county patrick sullivan&quot;).<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, I think it&#39;s a good idea.
