You notice they never raise the question of whether Bill Clinton would have made it to the White House "if he hadn't married the gal."<\/p>\n

There's no question that having been First Lady provided a definite amount of publicity for Clinton in her race for the Senate in New York — but Senators rarely get solely on name recognition. Clinton made it all the way to the end of a neck-and-neck primary battle against Barack Obama in '08 (further than, cough, Herman Cain got). And she was appointed and served as Secretary of State.<\/p>\n

You don't do those things just because you "married the guy." <\/p>\n

It's actually funny. Half the attacks on Clinton are that she's a super-villain, a ruthless intelligence that is out to destroy America through her fiendish plans. The other half are that she's an empty suit, cruising by on being married to a former president, with no qualifications and no capabilities of her own.<\/p>\n

Once they make up their mind if she's Ernestine Blofeld or Elly May Clampett, maybe it will be a discussion worth having.<\/p>\n
